As a teacher, I see the many challenges that children face every day. These challenges are magnified when you have a sibling that has special needs and requires additional care and responsibilities from your parents and yourself. I am proud to be a member of Sandy Feet Initiative, and to be a part of a community that recognizes siblings. We utilize the ocean, in a way that is freeing and calming, to provide an outlet for siblings to foster a community of peers and mentors that understand and support them. As a sibling of a child that battled cancer, I am especially excited to partner with CHOC and provide resources and an outlet to the siblings of children with special health needs.
