FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a program for siblings with disabilities and their siblings?

No, our programs are exclusively for the neurotypical siblings of children with disabilities

For the beach camps, does my child have to be able to swim?

No, our trained instructors will help your child become more comfortable and safe in the ocean.

Can, I, as a parent, stay around for the program?

No, we find that the kids socialize better with the other kids if there are no parents around.

Are the camps free?

We charge a fee for our camps in order to pay for equipment, permits and our instructors’ salaries.

What does my child need for camp?

A swimsuit, towel, water bottle, change of clothes and sunscreen.

Does my child need to bring a wetsuit, surfboard or boogie board?

We supply all the equipment needed for our camps. We prefer kids not bring their own equipment so that they share our gear with other kids. This helps break down boundaries.

What do you do at your programs?

Using recreationally therapeutic games and art projects, we create a safe environment for the siblings to meet other siblings like them, all the while learning communication, coping and general life skills.

Do you have other opportunities for the siblings that are not on the beach?

Yes, we will be hosting a few after school programs at our new Center for Siblings in Mission Viejo. Stay tuned for our schedule of events!
