Sandy Feet Initiative was founded in 2017 in response to a lack of services for the siblings of children with special needs. We offer beach based recreational programs to address the emotional and mental needs faced by this underserved population using the Sibshop model. Our workshops are recreationally therapeutic and include lively discussions paired with surfing, boogie boarding and ocean “play”.

 

Sandy Feet facilitators offer after school programs for siblings ages 7-13 and weekend workshops for teens ages 14 and up, as well as week long summer camps. We host monthly Sibshops at Children’s Hospital of Orange County, where we bring the magic of the beach to the siblings of children in the hospital.

 

Our sibs, short for siblings, enjoy our programs and love the opportunity to build relationships with other children, just like them!
